Women have been inducted in the IAF in a combat role for the first time. Now, IAF’s first batch of fighter pilots is all set to begin their simulation training at the Bidar air force station in Karnataka. Flying officers Avani Chaturvedi, Mohana Singh and Bhawana Kanth will train on Hawk simulators and later on fly the supersonic aircrafts. They have already completed their training on Kiran and Pilatus aircraft at the Dundugal air force academy. After the training at Karnataka, the women will move to air force station in Midnapore, West Bengal, for advanced training.
